We depend on our Central Office staff team to play a key role in improving educational outcomes for students by working relentlessly to manage Green Dot’s daily functions. In July 2024, Green Dot California will bring many resources in-house, including IT, payroll finance, and public affairs. This change is a pivotal moment for Green Dot California to build new capabilities designed to empower and support our schools here in California. Academics

The Black Student Success Advisor (BSSA) will work under the leadership of the Black Student Achievement Program Manager to provide a robust program of cohort support for Black scholars in order to prepare them for college, leadership and life. The BSSA will teach an advisory class, focused on amplifying cultural identity and awareness and ready to learn skills necessary for success in high school and beyond. They will also provide ongoing case management to scholars focused on improvement in the areas of attendance, behavior, and course grades (GPA). Additionally, the BSSA will develop strong stakeholder relationships with school staff and parents, acting as the primary support for scholars in their cohort.

The Black Student Success Program Manager is a Central Office position and will work under the leadership of the Senior Director of African American Achievement and Equity to build a robust program of support to ensure Black scholars are prepared for success in college, leadership, and life. The Program Manager will lead a team of school-based Black Student Success Advisors and support the development of systems, tools, curriculum and partnerships necessary to guide cohorts of Black high school students to and through college, utilizing their cultural capital to successfully navigate a variety of systems and institutions in high school and beyond.

Development

The Director of Development will oversee Green Dot California’s Development Team. This Director of Development will develop ambitious fundraising plans that help the organization win the necessary investments to support Green Dot California’s mission of transforming public education. This includes Moves Management of prospect portfolio lists, engagement of high-networth individuals, planning/executing campaigns and events, grant proposals, and management. The Director of Development will be a skilled leader with the ability to analyze data, develop team members, and communicate effectively on behalf of the organization. 

This position is part of the Public Affairs team and reports to the Chief of Staff. The role will manage a Development Engagement Specialist, a Sr. Development Officer, and a Grants Manager (who in turn will manage a Grants Compliance Associate and a Grant Writer)  This is a role serving as part of Green Dot California’s central office team, primarily based in Los Angeles.

The Grants Manager has a critical role in supporting Green Dot’s mission to prepare students for college, leadership, and life. The Grants Manager will work closely with the Senior Director of Development, Grants Team and organizational leadership to secure grants from private and public entities in support of Green Dot’s mission. The Grants Manager is responsible for identifying potential grant opportunities, and leading the development and submission of strong proposals and reports. This position is part of the Development Team and reports to the Senior Director of Development. This position leads the grants team, which includes a Grant Writer and Grants Compliance Associate. This is a role serving as part of Green Dot California’s central office team, primarily based in Los Angeles.

Finance and Accounting

The Controller plays a critical role in supporting Green Dot’s mission to prepare students for college, leadership, and life. The Controller oversees a multitude of financial operations, ensuring accurate recording and analysis of transactions while maintaining compliance with accounting standards. They lead a team, provide financial leadership, and implement internal controls. The role includes strategic financial management and collaboration with external auditors to support the organization’s financial health and objectives. This position is part of the Finance and Accounting team and reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The Financial Analyst will help to maintain sustainability by expertly executing the organization’s day-to-day financial operations (financial reports, models, projections, analyses, and grant management and compliance) as well as providing leverage and analytical support to assist with a variety of strategic initiatives. Human Capital

Green Dot is seeking a Human Capital Manager, who will be instrumental in designing and executing premier human capital strategies as they relate to teacher and school leader recruitment and fostering an environment dedicated to hiring and nurturing exceptional talent. This role is a blend of teacher recruitment and selection, people operations, and strategic talent advisement. Leading a small team of Human Capital team members, you will spearhead key teacher and school leader recruitment and selection initiatives, ensuring seamless attraction, development, and retention of top talent within our organization and reports to the Director of Human Capital. Green Dot is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Area Operations and Finance Manager to assume responsibility for overseeing operations, continuous improvement projects, budgeting, and forecasting for a portfolio of schools in the Los Angeles area. This critical role requires an individual who can effectively solve complex problems, taking full ownership of operational challenges to enable principals and teachers to concentrate on providing quality education to students. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving system improvements, going beyond addressing immediate issues to proactively identify opportunities for operational efficiency and enhanced effectiveness of our school services.
