Locke Student

We're preparing our community for college.

Our Community's High School

Any student can achieve and be successful in college, career, and life with a public education from Alain LeRoy Locke College Preparatory Academy. We believe that success isn't a destination, it's a journey that begins when students walk through our doors.

We know each student's story is different, and our academic approach accounts for that. Our rigorous college-prep curriculum measures not just how high a student scores on tests, but how far they’ve come to achieve those scores. We want our students to grow into well-rounded adults and citizens -- of South Los Angeles and the world -- whose skills and character make them leaders of our future. Enroll now!

The staff, the teachers, are really here to support the students. There are a lot of avenues for the student if they just take advantage to utilize and be able to achieve. I believe there's a great support system here. If a parent will come in and utilize that system, talking with the counselors, talking with the teachers, talking with the principal, with security and the people around, that will really help your student achieve. I think that's been the greatest thing here for me.

Locke stands for a promise. Every day that students come to school, we want to ensure that they're safe, they're happy and that they want to be here. Everyone here builds this community. We say, 'Once a Saint, always a Saint.' Once you come into this community, you will always be a part of this community.
