Hello AEO Family!
My name is Jacqueline Cuevas, and I am excited to introduce myself as your new Parent Coordinator! I wanted to take the time to tell you more about myself, and along with your help my plans for this school year. After graduating from Animo Venice, I attended San Diego State, where I realized my passion for education and in helping students make their aspirations become a reality. Both of my parents immigrated from El Salvador, and were very much involved in the education of my sister and myself. An issue that they did encounter was not having enough information or resources at their disposal. For this reason, I am looking forward to being your Parent Coordinator. I will host workshops that will provide information on an array of subject matters, such as, college requirements, mental health, effective communication strategies, current school climate, and I will also cater this list to any information or resources that you deem as important. My goal is to be your voice, and for your voice to be heard on campus. I hope that we can consistently collaborate throughout this school year in order to best meet the needs of our students. If you ever have any suggestions or concerns, please feel free to contact me. I am here for you!

Mi nombre es Jacqueline Cuevas, y estoy emocionada de presentarme como su nueva Coordinadora de Padres. Quiseria tomar este tiempo para contarle más sobre mí y junto con su ayuda, mis planes para este año escolar. Después de graduarme de Animo Venice, asistí a San Diego State, donde me di cuenta de mi pasión por la educación y de ayudar a los estudiantes a hacer realidad sus aspiraciones. Mis padres inmigraron de El Salvador y estuvieron muy involucrados en la educación de mi hermana y en la mia. Sin embargo, un problema que encontraron fue no tener suficiente información o recursos a su disposición. Por esta razón, sera un placer ser su Coordinadora de Padres. Organizaré talleres que proporcionarán información sobre una variedad de materias, tales como, requisitos universitarios, salud mental, estrategias de comunicación efectivas, cultura escolar actual, y también puedo cambiar esta lista para dar cualquier información o recurso que ustedes consideren importante. Mi objetivo es ser su voz y que su voz sea reconocida en la escuela. Espero que podamos colaborar constantemente a lo largo de este año escolar para satisfacer mejor las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes.
