{"id":1580,"date":"2018-02-27T19:00:03","date_gmt":"2018-02-27T19:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ca.greendot.org\/?p=1580"},"modified":"2021-12-03T23:58:40","modified_gmt":"2021-12-03T23:58:40","slug":"school-advisory-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ca.greendot.org\/old\/2018\/02\/27\/school-advisory-council\/","title":{"rendered":"School Advisory Council"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h4>\n\t\t<strong>Governance<\/strong>\n\t<\/h4>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">F 1.0 SAC Bylaws<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-0\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n\t\t<p>Policy:\u00a0 School Advisory Council Bylaws<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>ARTICLE I<br \/>\nName<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The name of this Committee shall be the \u00c1nimo &#8212;&#8212; Charter School Advisory Council. Hereafter it will be referred to as &#8220;SAC.&#8221;\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><b>ARTICLE II<br \/>\nPurpose<\/b><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The SAC shall review the Single School Plan addressing the following focus areas before October 1st for the ensuing academic year.\u00a0 The SAC will subsequently monitor the plan and applicable data, and if necessary, recommend modifications to the plan to reflect changing needs and\/or priorities throughout the year:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Curricula, instructional strategies and materials responsive to the individual needs and learning styles of our students.<\/li>\n<li>Instructional and auxiliary services to meet the needs of non-English-speaking or limited-English-speaking students; students with special or exceptional needs; and advanced students.<\/li>\n<li>A professional development program for teachers, other school personnel, paraprofessionals, and volunteers, including those participating in special programs.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Build the schools&#8217; and parents&#8217; capacity for strong parental involvement and develop and annually review a written parent involvement policy, pursuant to the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (last reauthorized as the Every Student Succeeds Act).\u00a0 The policy shall:\n<ol>\n<li>Provide the coordination, technical assistance, and other support necessary to assist the school in planning and implementing effective parent involvement activities to improve student academic achievement and school performance.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Coordinate and integrate parental involvement strategies [under Title I] with parental involvement strategies under other programs as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<ol>\n<li>Conduct, with the involvement of parents, an annual evaluation of the content and effectiveness of the parental involvement policy in improving the academic quality of the schools&#8230;, including identifying barriers to greater participation by parents in activities (with particular attention to parents who are economically disadvantaged, are disabled, have limited English proficiency, have limited literacy, or are of any racial or ethnic minority background), and use the findings of such evaluation to design strategies for more effective parental involvement, and to revise, if necessary, the parental involvement policies described in this section.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Involve parents in the activities of the school.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Review the school budget to assure spending in accordance with the goals of the plan.\u00a0 The SAC will recommend the school budget for the ensuing fiscal year before the principal submits it for Green Dot Public Schools Board approval.<\/li>\n<li>Other activities and objectives as designated by the Green Dot Board of Directors.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><b>ARTICLE III<br \/>\nMembership<\/b><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Section I:\u00a0 Composition<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li> The SAC shall be comprised as follows:\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The Principal\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Four (4) classroom teachers elected by classroom teachers.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>One (1) classified staff member elected by the classified staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Three (3) parents shall be elected by an election procedure open to all parents.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Three (3) students shall be elected by an election procedure open to all students.\u00a0 Students must maintain a 2.0 grade point average to be elected and serve on the SAC.\u00a0 Student representatives shall not be eligible enter into closed session.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Should a School Advisory Council (SAC) decide to amend the recommended by-laws to offer a different composition, please note the following requirements:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Half of the members of the SAC consist of the principal, classroom teachers, and other school personnel.\u00a0 Classroom teachers make up the majority of this group.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The remaining half of the members consists of equal numbers of students elected by students, and parents or other community members selected by parents.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li> A list of alternate parents, students, and classified stakeholders shall be established before the second SAC meeting. Alternates will vote only if a regular member is absent. The alternate parent list will consist of the remaining members of the parent corps.\u00a0 The alternate student list will consist of the remaining members of the student council. The alternate classified list will consist of the remaining full-time classified staff (office manager, school safety officer, and parent coordinator). The alternate teacher list will be established from the candidates not successful in the general election in the order of their finish in the voting.\u00a0 The principal may have the assistant principal represent him in absentia.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li> Elections\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Elections for staff and students shall be held prior to October 1st.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Appointments or election for parent membership shall be made\/ held prior to July 1st.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><b>Section 2:\u00a0 Term of Office<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All elected members of the SAC shall serve for a one-year term with no limit on number of consecutive terms.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3:\u00a0 Voting Rights<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The voting membership shall not exceed twelve (12).\u00a0 Each member shall be entitled to one vote and may cast that vote on each matter submitted to a vote of the Council.\u00a0 The elected alternate shall vote in the absence of the representative. Absentee ballots shall not be permitted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4:\u00a0 Termination of Membership<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A member shall no longer hold membership should he or she no longer meet the membership requirements under which he or she was selected.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Positions opened as a result of the above action will be filled by appointment by the chairperson for the duration of the school year using the list of alternates in sequence as specified in Article III, Section 1B.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 5:\u00a0 Transfer of Membership<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Elected membership in the SAC is not transferable or assignable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 6:\u00a0 Resignation<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Resignations will be accepted upon written notice to the Chairperson. Positions opened as a result of a member&#8217;s resignation will be filled by appointment for the duration of the school year using the list of alternates in sequence as specified in Article III, Section 1B.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u00a0If an alternate is not available, each represented group will be responsible for selecting a new member for the duration of the school year using an election process.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 8:\u00a0 Non-Attendance of Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All voting members of the SAC shall notify the Chairperson of an absence prior to the meeting. The non-attending member or other requested SAC member will take responsibility to notify and request from the active list of alternates, an alternate to attend in his\/her place.\u00a0 Students may consult with the student council advisor to find an alternate member. Parents may consult with the parent coordinator or principal to find an alternate member.<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 9:\u00a0 Alternates<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>An active list of SAC alternates will be available to all members. The alternate list shall be comprised of at least one teacher, three students, three parents, one classified staff member and one administrative staff member to be selected as required in accordance with these Bylaws. When an alternate is in attendance as replacement for a regular voting member, the alternate will indicate this at the beginning of the meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><b>ARTICLE IV<br \/>\nOfficers<\/b><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Section 1:\u00a0 Officers<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The officers of the SAC shall be a Chairperson, Vice-Chairperson, Secretary, and such other officers as the SAC may deem desirable.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2:\u00a0 Election of Officers<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All officers shall be elected by voting members of the SAC by ballot at an election meeting to be held at the first meeting following completion of all elections as prescribed in Article III, Section 1, not to be later than October 1st.\u00a0 New officers shall assume their duties at the close of the election meeting.\u00a0 Should an officer resign before new elections are held, the Chairperson shall appoint a member in good standing to assume the office until the next regular meeting when the vacancy could be filled.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3:\u00a0 Removal<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Any officer may be removed by a two-thirds vote of all members sitting on the SAC whenever, in the judgment of the SAC, the best interests of the SAC would be served.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4:\u00a0 Vacancy<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A vacancy in any office because of death, removal, disqualification, or otherwise shall, be filled by a special election at the next SAC meeting for the unexpired portion of the term.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 5:\u00a0 Chairperson<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Chairperson shall preside at all meetings of the SAC, approve the agenda prior to its posting, and may sign all letters, reports, and other communications of the SAC. In addition, the chairperson shall perform all duties incident to the office of Chairperson and such other duties as may be prescribed by the SAC from time to time.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 6:\u00a0 Vice-Chairperson<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The duties of the Vice-Chairperson shall be to represent the chairperson in assigned duties and to substitute for the Chairperson during his or her absence, and the Vice-Chairperson shall perform such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the chairperson or by the SAC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 7:\u00a0 Secretary<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary shall see to the keeping of the minutes of the meetings, both regular and special, and shall promptly transmit to each of the members, and to such other persons as the SAC may deem, true and correct copies of the minutes of such meetings; see that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these bylaws; be custodian of the SAC records; keep a register of the address and telephone number of each member of the SAC which shall be furnished to the Secretary by such member; and, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to the office by the chairperson or by the SAC.<\/p>\n<h4><b>ARTICLE V<\/b><b><br \/>\n<\/b><b>Committees<\/b><\/h4>\n\n<p>The SAC may from time to time establish and abolish such standing or special committees as it may desire. No standing or special committee may exercise the authority of the SAC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2:\u00a0 Membership<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Unless otherwise determined by the SAC in its decision to establish a committee, the Chairperson of the SAC shall appoint members to the various committees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3:\u00a0 Term of Office<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each member of a committee shall continue as such for the term of his or her appointment and until his or her successor is appointed, unless the committee shall be sooner terminated or abolished, or unless such member shall cease to qualify as a member thereof.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4:\u00a0 Rules<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Each committee may adopt rules for its own government not inconsistent with these bylaws or with rules adopted by the SAC or with policies of the governing board.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><b>ARTICLE VI<br \/>\nMeetings of the School Advisory Council<\/b><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Section 1:\u00a0 Regular Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>SAC shall meet regularly at least once per month while school is in session, unless the SAC by consensus that a monthly meeting is not necessary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 2:\u00a0 Special Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Special meetings may be called by the Chairperson or by majority vote of the SAC.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 3:\u00a0 Place of Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The SAC shall hold its regular meetings and its special meetings in a facility provided by the school and readily accessible by all members of the public, including handicapped persons.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 4:\u00a0 Notice of Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Appropriate public notice shall be given of regular meetings at least forty-eight hours in advance of the meeting. Any change in the established date, time, or locations must be given special notice. All special meetings shall be publicized. Any required notice shall be in writing; shall state the day, hour, and location of the meeting; and shall be delivered either personally, by email or mail to each member not less than forty-eight hours prior to the date of such meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>All decisions of the SAC shall be made only after an affirmative vote of a majority of its members in attendance, provided a quorum is in attendance.\u00a0 Should a voting dead-lock occur, the SAC must reconsider the issue at hand, as all decisions of the SAC require an affirmative vote of the majority of its members in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>SAC shall submit decisions to the Green Dot Governing Board, as appropriate, for ratification.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 6:\u00a0 Quorum<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A majority of the authorized number of SAC members then in office constitutes a quorum for the transaction of business.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Chairperson may cancel a meeting fifteen minutes after its designated start time, should a quorum not be established.\u00a0 In the absence of quorum, the assembled members may vote to hold an informational meeting, but may not conduct business.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 7:\u00a0 Conduct of Meetings<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All regular and special meetings of the SAC shall be conducted in accordance with ROBERT&#8217;S RULES OF ORDER or in accordance with an appropriate adaptation thereof.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><b>Section 8:\u00a0 Public Participation<\/b>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>All regular and special meetings of the SAC and of its standing or special committees shall be open to the public.\u00a0 There shall be time allotted in each agenda for public address of the council. Further, the chairperson may recognize public guests during the course of the meeting.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>ARTICLE VII<br \/>\nAmendments<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These Bylaws may be amended by a two-thirds majority vote of the SAC at any official meeting, and must be ratified annually.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--label-1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">F 2.0 DELAC \/ ELAC Bylaws<\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a href=\"#\" id=\"fl-accordion--icon-1\" tabindex=\"0\" aria-controls=\"fl-accordion--panel-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><i>Expand<\/i><\/a>\n<p>Policy:\u00a0 DELAC Bylaws<\/p>\n<p>District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) Bylaws<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE I<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>TITLE<\/strong>\nEach school with 21 or more English learners (ELs) shall establish an elected English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). Each school with 51 or more English Learners will establish an elected District (Green Dot) English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE II<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>PURPOSE<\/strong>\n<p>The purpose of the ELAC\/DELAC is to advise and make recommendations in writing to the Principal and School Advisory Council (SAC) on the implementation and evaluation of the school&#8217;s services for ELs.\u00a0 Committee members will participate in training that will provide the necessary skills and practices for carrying out their responsibilities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Per California Code of Regulations Section 11308, the ELAC\/DELAC shall be responsible for the following tasks:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Development of a master plan for education programs and services for ELs. The master plan will take into consideration the school site master plans.<\/li>\n<li>Conducting of a Green Dot-wide needs assessment on a school-by-school basis.<\/li>\n<li>Establishment of school program, goals, and objectives for programs and services for English learners.<\/li>\n<li>Development of a plan to ensure compliance with any applicable teacher and\/or teacher aide requirements.<\/li>\n<li>Review and comment on the school reclassification procedures.<\/li>\n<li>Review and comment on the written notifications required to be sent to parents\/guardians.<\/li>\n<li>If the DELAC acts as the EL parent advisory committee under California\u00a0<em>Education Code<\/em>\u00a0Sections 52063(b)(1) and 52062(a)(2), the DELAC shall also review and comment on the development or annual update of the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE III<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>MEMBERSHIP<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 1<\/u>: Parents\/guardians of ELs shall constitute the majority membership<\/p>\n<p>(51 percent or more) of the committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other Committee Members:\u00a0 A good faith effort must be made to recruit<\/p>\n<p>membership from the following groups:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School site staff<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Administration<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Community members or representatives<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Other parents (not necessarily of EL students)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 2<\/u>: Each member shall have one vote.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 3<\/u>: Every officer will be elected for a term of one year. All other members are<\/p>\nencouraged to participate for the length of their students&#8217; stay at the school.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE IV<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>OFFICERS<\/strong>\n<p>The officers of this Committee shall consist of a chairperson, vice chairperson and<\/p>\n<p>secretary. Any member of an DELAC\/ELAC is eligible to be an officer of the Committee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE V<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>ELECTION OF PARENT MEMBERS &amp; OFFICERS<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>SECTION 1<\/u>: The parents\/guardians of ELs shall elect the parent members of<\/p>\n<p>DELAC\/ELAC. Parents\/guardians of ELs shall be provided the<\/p>\n<p>opportunity to vote in the election.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>SECTION 2<\/u>: All officers shall be elected democratically through a majority vote of the DELAC membership.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<u>SECTION 3<\/u>: Officers will assume their positions following the conclusion of elections.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE VI<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>MEETING<\/strong>\n<p>Six (6) regular meetings shall be held during the school year. If fewer meetings are held, all of the legal requirements must still be covered across all meetings.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Committee shall decide the date, time, and place of the meeting.<\/li>\n<li>The agenda and reminder of each meeting will be posted.<\/li>\n<li>All meetings shall be open to the public and publicized on the school&#8217;s website, notice board, and automatic telephone service (if available).<\/li>\n<li>All notices will be published in both English and Spanish.<\/li>\n<li>The meetings shall be conducted the home language of the majority of the members.\u00a0 Translation into the other language will be provided.<\/li>\n<li>The meetings shall be governed by these Bylaws and any dispute will be settled by parliamentary procedure as described in <em>Robert&#8217;s Rules of Order<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE VII<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>BYLAWS &amp; AMENDMENT<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 1<\/u>: Each school DELAC\/ELAC shall adopt bylaws to identify functions and to govern<\/p>\n<p>meetings. These Bylaws will be valid when adopted by a simple majority vote of the<\/p>\n<p>entire membership.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 2<\/u>: These Bylaws may be amended at any regular meeting with the approval of majority<\/p>\nvote.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE VIII<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>DUTIES OF OFFICERS<\/strong>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 1<\/u>: It shall be the duty of the chairperson to preside at all meetings.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Be fair and impartial.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Check to see that translation is available at each meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Attend agenda planning meetings with the assistance of other officers, the coordinator, and the principal or designee.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Involve and inform the Committee concerning all school English Learner Program transactions and activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Sign all documents related to the English Learner Program (with approval of the committee).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 2<\/u>: In the event of the absence of the chairperson, the vice-chairperson shall assume the duties of the<\/p>\n<p>chairperson.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Assists the chairperson in conducting the meetings.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>Section 3<\/u>: Should both the chairperson and vice-chairperson be unavailable, the<\/p>\n<p>recording\/corresponding secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings, send notices of<\/p>\n<p>meetings and\/or agendas, attend to correspondence, and send out publicity as directed.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain a roster of membership<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Take, read, and file accurate minutes of all meetings<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Maintain a roster of attendance<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Keep a notebook file of all meeting notices, agendas, minutes and handouts<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Call members as needed<\/p>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Perform other duties as delegated<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;\n<strong>ARTICLE IX<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>&nbsp;\n\n<ul>\n<li>Any officer may resign by submitting written notice to the committee chairperson or school administration.<\/li>\n<li>If an officer resigns, the Chair (or Co-Chairs) can appoint another member to fill the position until the end of the school year.\u00a0 If the Chair resigns, the Co-Chair fills the empty position.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>&nbsp;\n<strong>ARTICLE X<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>&nbsp;\n\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Principal will take responsibility for the proper functioning and implementation of the ELAC\/DELAC. The election meeting must be held in addition to the regularly scheduled meetings.<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Principal shall have the responsibility for providing appropriate training and materials to assist parent members in carrying out their responsibilities.<\/p>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Principal will also make arrangements for notices to be translated and for interpreting at each ELAC\/DELAC meeting.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>ARTICLE XI<\/strong><\/td>\n<td><strong>SUBCOMMITTEES<\/strong>\n<p>Subcommittees shall be appointed as needed to promote the objectives of theELAC\/DELAC.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><u>SECTION 1<\/u>:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The ELAC\/DELAC may designate a School Advisory Council (SAC) to function as site&#8217;s advisory council for ELs. \u00a0(Cal. Ed.
