Through your ongoing support and cooperation, we have significantly reduced our seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate to 0.10 percent.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>While we&#8217;re celebrating the safety of our schools, we&#8217;ve also made strides to celebrate our school communities. In February, we created additional space to celebrate Black History Month in our schools.. This month we are emphasizing Women&#8217;s History Month by showing our next generation of leaders how women in our school community and our nation have shattered barriers, and pushed our nation toward a more just society.<\/p>\n<p>This week, we have a few updates to share on our updated masking policy and upcoming breaks.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<p>On March 9, 2022, Green Dot Public Schools California distributed a parent survey to help inform our mask mandate policy through April 29th, 2022. We received thousands of responses from our families and students in support of keeping our indoor mask mandate policy.<\/p>\n<p>Moving forward, all Green Dot California schools will not require masks outdoors, <b>but will continue to require masks indoors through April 29th. <\/b>We will use health and safety data and public health guidance to determine whether or not to change our mask policy in the near future.<\/p>\n\n<p>Our campuses will close for the observance of Cesar Chavez Day on Thursday, March 31, 2022. Our schools will reopen on Friday, April 1, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In April, our schools will be closed for spring break for two weeks, from Monday, April 11, 2022 to Friday April 22, 2022. Our schools will resume instruction on Monday, April 25, 2022. Upon return from spring break, we will require families to provide evidence of negative COVID-19 tests for their children. Masking will not be required while eating or drinking during lunch and nutrition; while playing sports; or while physically distancing outside.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our masking policy will remain in effect until guidance from leading health agencies deem otherwise. Your child&#8217;s school will send a complete list of inappropriate face coverings. Our school staff will provide safe and approved masks to any students who do not have one.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>New Signage: <\/b>Our campuses are equipped with new signage to indicate when social distancing and masks will be required.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Covid-19 Screening<\/b>: All students, teachers, faculty, staff, and visitors will be screened before entering any school campus.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Continued Covid-19 Testing:<\/b> Students, teachers, faculty, staff, and visitors who show symptoms related to Covid-19 will be required to take a Covid-19 test. Every school will have self-administered testing kits available to any person who needs to be tested. In a measure of precaution, we will periodically test all students and staff for Covid-19 throughout the school year. <br \/>\n<br \/>\n<b>All<\/b> <b>students, teachers, staff, and faculty<\/b> who are present on our campuses owned by the Los Angeles Unified School District <b>will be tested weekly<\/b>.These school sites include: <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.greendot.org\/jackierobinson\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">\u00c1nimo Jackie Robinson Charter High School<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.greendot.org\/legacy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">\u00c1nimo Legacy Charter Middle School<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/ca.greendot.org\/locke\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Locke College Preparatory Academy<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please contact the main office of your child&#8217;s school to learn more about how we&#8217;re keeping our students safe.\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\"><b>Covid-19 Vaccination: <\/b>All students 12 and older are encouraged to make vaccine appointments. Our school staff will contact you so you can learn more about how this voluntary action can keep our schools safe.<\/p>\n<p>Since May of 2021, we have partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unitedparents.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">United Parents &amp; Students<\/a> and<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellchild.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"> St. John&#8217;s Well Child &amp; Family Center<\/a> to turn our schools into temporary and accessible vaccination sites. DI provides short-term benefit payments to eligible workers who have a full or partial loss of wages due to a non-work-related illness, injury, or pregnancy. Benefit amounts are approximately 60-70 percent of wages (depending on income) and range from $50-$1,300 a week.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tUnemployment and Childcare\n\t\t\t\n<p>If your child&#8217;s school is closed, and you have to miss work to be there for them, you may be eligible for Unemployment Insurance benefits. Eligibility considerations include if you have no other care options and if you are unable to continue working your normal hours remotely.<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\tReduced Work Hours\n\t\t\t<p>If your employer has reduced your hours or shut down operations due to COVID-19, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.edd.ca.gov\/Unemployment\/Filing_a_Claim.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">file an Unemployment Insurance (UI) claim<\/a>. UI provides partial wage replacement benefit payments to workers who lose their job or have their hours reduced, through no fault of their own.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.ca.gov\/2020\/03\/12\/governor-newsom-issues-new-executive-order-further-enhancing-state-and-local-governments-ability-to-respond-to-covid-19-pandemic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Governor&#8217;s Executive Order<\/a> waives the one-week unpaid waiting period, so you can collect UI benefits for the first week you are out of work.
