Taiala Carvalho Regnier
Taiala is the Principal of Animo South Los Angeles. She originally joined Green Dot as a math teacher in 2006, where she taught all subjects from Pre-Algebra to Calculus. Six years later, she became the Assistant Principal of ASLA, serving in that role for two years before serving the same community as the principal. After over ten years of commitment to the South Los Angeles families, she continues to strive towards preparing ALL students for college, leadership and life – one step at a time, one student at a time. Taiala has earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota, a Masters of Applied and Computational Mathematics from the California Institute of Technology (CalTech) and a Masters of Education from Loyola Marymount University. When not working, Taiala enjoys spending time with her husband and two kiddos and playing ultimate frisbee on the beach.
Ife is an Assistant Principal at Animo South Los Angeles. She originally joined Green Dot in 2013 as an Administrator in Residence, through which she was placed and ultimately hired at ASLA the same school year. Prior to serving in this role, Ife worked with public and charter schools in Philadelphia in different capacities for nearly 10 years, 5 of which were spent as an English teacher with Mastery Charter Schools. Ife has earned both a Bachelor of Arts in Health and Societies, as well as a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. When not working, Ife enjoys reading, dancing, traveling and spending with her loved ones on the east coast.
