About Jackie Robinson
Ánimo Jackie Robinson Charter High School is a charter high school located in Los Angeles, California. Our charter was approved by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and the school currently has nearly 600 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12.
Ánimo Jackie Robinson Charter High School is one of five high schools opened by Green Dot Public Schools in 2006 to provide the local community with a high-quality alternative to Thomas Jefferson Senior High School that, at the time, scored an API of just 516. We began with just one ninth grade class of 140 students and have added a class each year until we grew an entire 9-12 span of students. Since our initial year, we have increased our API over 200 points, and currently have an API of 750. Animo Jackie Robinson Charter High School shares a campus with LAUSD’s William Jefferson Clinton Middle School. Through our Prop 39 agreement, the two schools share much of the common space on the campus, and the majority of our students are graduates of Clinton MS.
